Default Anyone with a QP 9" enter here!

Just got a QP 9" for my car and hear 100 different stories on which tunnel mount torque arm to buy. What have you guys found when you installed yours. Which brand is the best/fits best? Thank you

You exhaust may effect which torque arm mount you need.

The rear end itself is the underlying issue, currie makes a weld on torque arm bracket that i highly recommend instead of QP’s mount. That thing was sketchy from the start. After that the torque arm fits in the tunnel much better

BMR adj torque arm with trans relocation bracket worked great. Cut the bracket and spare the tunnel from the BFH. If you have true duals like me and you want to run a short arm, you will need to find a member that hangs really low and may even have to bend the pipes a bit with a press or something. The rear end bracket is much better than mosers. I don't see how it's sketchy...it doesn't rub at all.

It’s sketchy because it shouldn’t be swiveling and put together with heim joints, if you have a welded piece it’s much more solid from the start. I get that’s its adjustable but it’s also a pain in the *** to adjust and most of us on here aren’t running a stock torque arm so that has all the adjustment you need anyway

If you know how to weld or have someone weld it this is a much better piece.

Your searching for a hypothetical problem that may not even exist. There is no play with the qp bracket, it's a very solid, strong piece, offers more adjustability if needed and grants more clearance. Has anyone reported a problem with the heims failing?

And the heims could even be welded to the housing tabs anyways.

Maybe but all that **** on their mount is overkill. I like how simple these ones are and they are smaller so they tuck in better. You can argue the QP till your blue in the face but i’m still convinced this is a much better designed piece

Nah man it's super simple. You just torque the two bolts to as tight as you can with a 1/2 ratchet and you are golden. And it gives enough clearance to clear the tunnel. No banging clunking or rubbing at all.

IMHO,, Never,,, ever weld on a Heim, either a stud mount or threaded mount them screw the thing in as they are designed.. Besides they wear out and do eventually need replaced and multiple sessions of welding a housing is a crack factory waiting to happen..

I suspect it centers on where we each have felt pain in the past..

Welding it isn't necessary anyways. It works as is.

Oh I just meant on the heim joint itself, I work turns pick up broken cars during road race events and I've seen Heims abused in the darnedest fashions..

I’m just not sold on the mount, the housing and axles are basically moser

Dunno how to convince you it works because I am not making enough power to even reach 50% of the rears limit lol. But it doesn't make a peep and functions as it should. Why spend more money on the Currie mount when the one provided works? Not bashing the Currie mount btw we all know Currie is top of the line.

They offer a stock recondition big web system but they also make their own fabricated unit which seems to be very well built and is about 10 lbs lighter than the stock big web system. I purchased the fabricated housing they make which is a little bit beefier than the stock big web style housing and the welds are very good. It also looks really nice after being painted with POR 15. So I wouldn't quite say that it is a Moser housing. The axle are Moser though.
