LOUD clunking noise

LOUD clunking noise I am trying to troubleshoot an issue of a car I just purchased. I am just looking for advice on where to start.
When I'm driving the car has loud whine (12 bolt 4.11's) When I let off the gas pedal there is a loud clunking while deaccel at pretty much any speed. While I am pressing the gas pedal there is no clunking. The drive shaft does have alot of play in the rear end when I jack up the car and move it with my hands. It also has some play in the transmission.
I can also spin the rear tires even with the car in park.
It also clunks when I put it in drive or reverse.

The first thing to check for if it has a Moser 12 bolt, are the torque arm bolts at the rear end. These bolts tend to loosen up and cause the clunking sound you mentioned. Bob
