Default Ring & Pinion

I have a 2000 WS6 with roughly 184,000 miles, I just had to have the rear end rebuilt but they didn't do the ring and pinion so it's still making that high pitch sound when driving. I am pricing ring & pinions, who's had experience with this and which manufacturer is as close to OEM not looking for re-built unless that is the best way to go.

Regearing is the cheapest option, If they didn't replace the ring and pinion/all bearings I wouldn't call it a rebuild. The consensus for street use and quietness is usually Motive blues which seem to be popular.

Well they did what they could in the timne allowed and trying to keep costs down for me, but it was determined they will need to re-gear. I have not heard of this brand Motive Blues?

Motive blues refers to Motives in Blue Box, I believe there is also Motives Red Box.

Motive blue box, part number starts with GM. So an oem 3.42 gear would be GM75342 as an example. Setup correctly they should be dead silent like oem.

Yukon gear is far superior to any other gears ive installed (richmond, motive, strange etc.). The gears come lapped in, offer a liftetime warranty and have a VERY comprehensive install manual. I'll never buy another name brand gear set after using yukon. they make zero noise and are easy to setup also. Buy the complete install kit. Its worth it.
