Question Need help Dana S60 vs hawks 8.8 vs moser 9inch (98 Fbody)

Hello guys,

I have a 1998 Camaro F body that I am building for drag racing it has a stock bottom LQ4 6.0 with a single turbo, I am stuck between the 3 rear end options and kind of lost
to what to pick for my car. The car is only for drag racing I am not planning to drive it on the street, and horsepower wise for now looking at 700 but future to make it reach to 1000HP.
Any help with what option is best for me between the Strange S60, Hawks 8.8, Moser 9inch?

My tranny is Th400, looking to have mounted on the stock brakes I already bought a UMI torque arm, panhand bar, extreme anti roll bar, rear lower arm
and planning to go with afco suspension kit. 15inch weld racing

With that much power the 9" is going tonbe your best bet. Maybe even save a little longer and go with one from Midwest Chassis.

My 01 has an S60 with 35 splines and an HD-Posi. I retained traction control since its mainly a street car but in your case I'd go with a spooled Midwest Chassis Fab 9.

I have a 99 build in progress and plan on using a MWC Fab 9.

At that type of power you are far and away from the 8.8 builds, or 12-bolt stuff as you will find out that you are going to replace the ring and pinion yearly. The S60 can handle some decent power but I wouldn't use for that 1000 plus range. Which leaves us talking 9" options and if you want to go with a 9" that still uses a heavier stock style mounting torque arm that makes contact with the floor or our fabricated torque arm that gives the most room and strength. Moser does have an M9 fabricated housing but is by far the most exspensive package on the market with the least amount of options.

The nice thing about our fabricated nine inch minus the weight savings and torque arm design is the fact it still bolts in just how the factory 10-bolt came out. It is indeed a direct swap and done that way because we do more than just manufacture the product and sell it we have been installing our own products for years. Most likely the only company out there that does installs with the products they manufacturer when it comes to the F-Body platform.

This would be my first choice- Spool Package
