I purchased a 7.5” 10 bolt rear axle that was welded and had 4:10s with a TCW rear cover and truss . I planned to use the gears and truss on my rear axle with my factory limited slip. My car doesn’t appear to have TCS but the other rear ended had a sensor On each side by the brakes . My car doesn’t have them . So would that mean this axle has TCS and I can’t use the gears in my diff ? I measured the main cap bolt distances and they match but the 410 ring gear is a lot wider then my factory one.
Any help would be great.
I suspect that the 4.10 ring gear is thicker since the pinion is smaller compared to the factory gearset.
A speed sensor in the diff is a 3-channel setup which is used for the ABS only. Speed sensors at the wheels is a 4-channel setup that is used for TCS/ASR and ABS.
The top pic is your car and the bottom pic is the acquired carrier/gear assy, right ?
Top pic appears to be an Auburn 3 series carrier, bottom pic appears to be a 2 series carrier, it those are true, that gearset won't work for you.
What is your car, year, auto or M6, RPO GU? code ?
GU6 is M6 cars, 3.42 gears on a 3 series carrier.
GU5 is auto car, 3.23 gears on a 3 series carrier.
GU2 is auto car, 2.73 gears on a 2 series carrier.
