Ring gear pitting

Ring gear pitting Hey guys,
I own a C6 'Vette, but am also posting here because of the similarities and not getting enough feedback on the Corvette forums.
I'm about to purchase a differential remotely (shipped from 600 miles away).
The seller is telling me that the donor car only has 25 000 miles.
The pictures are telling me otherwise. There is some kind of pitting, or darker area, in the center of the drive side gear tooth.
Should I be concerned and investigate further before spending hundreds of dollars? Or if this is about right and it will drive just fine for many years to come?

I wouldn't run that gear set, as was stated above, the drive face looks like it is quite rough, like it was run dry. They should be nearly mirror-smooth. Is the reason you are ordering a new diff because you need just a diff, or both a diff and a ring/pinion gearset? In any case, if the ring/pinion look like that, I'd steer clear of that diff entirely.
