Driveshat shape, manual vs auto Do the manual car is diffetent from the automatic, the driveshat? Length or something. I have two of them and one has like a metal drum at the beginning of the side that goes to the tranny?

The 6 speed manual and 4L60e driveshafts for a 98 LS1 Camaro are the same length, as best I can remember. The automatic had an aluminum driveshaft and the 6 speed manual, T56 trans had a steel driveshaft.

On the other hand, an auto trans could have either aluminum (3.23 gear, GU5) or steel (2.73 gear, GU2) shaft.
