Does this fit my Camaro?
Hello!
I am a newbie and no mechanic so I would be happy if someone could help me
I bought a Camaro z28 -99 Ls1 with A4 6 months ago and have spent i good amount of money on it.
Speed engineering longtube headers and dual exhaust.
Bmr lowering springs
Uni rear control arms
Panhardbar (relovation kit)
New spark plugs and wires
Cosmis xt005r rims with new tirnewand then some..
I live in sweden so its somewhat of an expensiv hobby :/
I feel that i need som get up and go so i found a complete rear end on facebook with 3.42 gears (i have 2.73 now).
My question is will this go on my car??
"Rear axle 10 bolted from Camaro gen4Crown wheel diameter 7.625”Eagle ramp diff 3.42 ext166cm contact measurement.Trickflow diff cover. The axle has only been driven onceAll new in the axle, professionally builtIncludes knot cross, spacer plates34mm shims"
Sorry for long post...
Best regards Tomaz

It sounds like the correct rear, but a pic would help. There are differences between early 4th gen axles and later 4th gen axles. However, you're not going to see a huge gain by going to these gears. You would be much better off buying a quality higher stall torque converter. You'll get more performance from that.

This is the one i am wondering about. He wants 1000 dollars for it.

The pic of that rear shows 4 channel sensors at/on the backing plates, if your car has 4 channel ABS & TC then it would be a good fit if it's from a 98-02. If your car is ABS only (3 channel), it would cause your dashboard fault lights to be on permanently and not be able to be tuned off as it's a safety protocol.
As in post #2, a torque convertor would be a better choice. A GOOD convertor would not feel sluggish and slipping around town.
