Uh oh!

So I have an 01 Firehawk 4A. Stock 10 bolt with the T/A girdle cover. According to the previous owner it’s an auburn with a 3.73 gears. Did a gear oil change today with the recommended auburn non syn and additive. Came out looking like dark green metallic paint, and some pieces/shavings actually clogged it up so bad I had to poke them out with a screwdriver to get it going again.

Needless to say I was surprised it still moved once I filled it back up. Now I got this car from my dad, he’s had it since 06 but honestly didn’t know much of the history. He got it with 129k miles and it’s at 171k now. I’m not sure when the last gear oil change was, but it was at least 20-25k miles prior. I’m just gonna go ahead and plan on swapping this asap assuming it doesn’t fail first.

I was looking on Summit and there was a bunch of different auburns. Does anyone know the correct one for my model and application? Also, if I wanted to go to like a 3.08 gear, does anyone have a recommendation for the best one for that? I never drag the car like the previous owner and I’m tired of shitty MPG lol. Thanks for all advice.
