Backlash woes :(

Backlash woes :( So i Bought my 1998 z28 m6 a couple months ago, 34 thousand on the clock. 4:10's in the rear. 2 days ago i'm driving it (not even *** whooping it) and i hear very strange noises coming from the rear , so i took the inspection plate off the rear diff and saw a huge chunk basically a WHOLE tooth from the pinion gear. I then checked the backlash settings which were supposed to be between 5 and 9 thousands , and it was at 20!!! so not only did it destroy that, but it fractured the locker inside also. So now my question to you guys is, what brand gears should i go with, and what locker should i go with. I dont want to go wicked cheap but i need something that wont blow up too easy, i dont have a crapload of money so i need something mid priced. Any opinions, comments would be appreciated TIA guys 
Dump the 7.5 & get a 12 bolt or 9". That is my opinion. The pinion gets to small on a 4 series 7.5 gear set, they are too small.There is no real way to make them strong, it is a poor design for hi-power/torque applications. An upgrade is the only answer IMO.
