Need clarification on sending in backing plates.

Need clarification on sending in backing plates. Well, the company that I ordered the rear end from says that I only need to send in the backing plates, but when I called Strange they said that they need the backing plates and the caliper brackets. But I dont see any reason why they would need the brackets too. I took the axles out and removed the 4 botls that hold the backing plates onto the housing. The backing plate retains 2 more holes for the caliper bracket to bolt on to. That bracket holds the caliper in place. Im thinking that he is referring to the caliper brackets as the backing plates because they are both one piece. I dunno, what do I need to send in? Just want to make sure because I need to send them out right away. Thanks.
