Default Poor quality of Moser products

I have a Moser rear which is 1 year old and has 5,000 kms on it and it now has broken spider gears and I'm sure when I dig further there are other problems with it. For a $2500 piece this is not good enough. Moser doesn't want to do anything for me on this issue which I think is totally ridiculous. I bought this rear because I thought it would hold up to what my car could throw at it and I guess I was wrong. If this can happen to my car, 385 rwhp, than it is certainly not a quality high HP piece that it is supposed to be. To all those out there who read this think twice before you have to experience the same problem that I now have. If I had known this I would have never purchased a moser 12 bolt.

Anybody have a similar problem and if so how did moser handle the situation?

Sorry to say, but Moser doesnt make the posi. That would be Eaton if you purchased the upgraded unit. Moser only makes the housing and the axles.

I know that Eaton makes the posi unit but the fact is that Moser is selling the 12 bolt as an assembled unit which in my opinoin means that Moser should be responsible, at least somewhat, for the product that they sold to me. If Moser is selling a unit with inferior parts, no mateer where they come from or who made them, then they should do something to make sure that all the pieces that go into a assembled Moser product are of good quality and will hold up to what Moser claims they will. Don't mean to go on and on but I am totally p'd off with Moser and the garbage that they sell.

!2 bolts just don't like stick cars.My bolt on car rips up 12 bolt ring and pinions with
wild abandon.I just thought they would be strong enough but after 7 ring a pinons I think I'll conceed defeat.

Come on now....I just ordered my moser 9" but I opted for the spool cause I have heard of so many people breaking posi's. I do agree with you though, moser should replace it cause its sold as a "moser package".

I'm glad to see that somebody elese sees it my way. These 12 bolts are way to expensive to be putting up with BS from Moser like they have been giving me. Thanks, 2MuchRiceMakesMeSick

PS Its quite expensive to fix once its broken as well!!!!!

12 bolt posi's blow ALL the time in six speed cars. I have a spool in mine with no issues at all and I launch at 5000+ rpm on 28 inch slicks.

Their gears on the other hand

What did you do to fix your car? Did you just replace the posi gear set? Did you have to redail-in the Ring and Pinion? What way did you go? I just broke my 12 Moser also and got the same answer as you got. I thought they would have stood behind there Rears.

By any chance, do any of you guys have an empty Moser 12 bolt case that you might be interested in selling, or do you want to unload a problem child rear that you suspect is no good?
