Still think it has to do with the mass the U-joints have
to push around, pinion angle and maybe the absolute
joint angles in this case.
The lack of mass in a aluminum driveshaft makes it more suseptable to resonate vibration whether the cause is internal or external and then making it more known

Well, I haven't changed the u joint yet. I have a spare but haven't swapped them yet. Now I start to feel a vibration slightly at around 80 with the aluminum one, so may be a wheel imbalance or bent axle. With the 3" chro-mo shaft, it is alot heavier, so I am thinking it amplifies the vibration, and that along with the poly trans and suspension mounts, is simply transmitting more vibration to the cabin. The whole car doesn't shake or anything, I just can feel a bit of a humming vibration. I'm beginning to think more and more, that since I haven't driven the T/A as much, and am now driving the Blazer 95% of the time, I forgot that T/A does give a bit harsher ride. I'm going racing this weekend, so if I'm feeling bad things at 100mph, then I'll know its something a little more serious.

Our problems must not be as similar as I thought then. My problem starts about 60-65mph, and by 75 or so, the change in the cup holder is jumping all over the place.

Here's my thread for reference:

What you're describing sounds kind of like what you get with a stiff suspension, and the vibration just kind of goes with the territory. How long have you been driving around with your current suspension/bushings?

Well, the poly trans mount went on back last october with the new clutch. Drove the car 3 weeks, then it sat most of the winter. T/A with a poly mount went on this spring, but I've only put about 1500 miles on it since. So that is what leads me to believe maybe it is an unfamiliarity with the car. I was just a bit overly cautious as I do not want something in the driveline to let go at 100+ mph because of undue stress from something being out of balance. But I would not say my vibration is near as bad to the point where the change is jumping around in the cup holder!
