Default Roaring rearend

O.k. guys my rearend is starting to roar I think it is getting ready to die. I would love to get a 12 bolt but that is not in the budget at all. I don't ever race my car at the track but I do race a few honda's and stangs every now and again on the street. I planning on taking it to a mechanic sometime this week. What to you guys recommend I do to it I.E. gears differential etc. to keep it from breaking again. I'm plannning on staying with the 3.42's. So I guess what I am asking is for a list of better than OEM parts to put back in it than can handle more stress.

Thanks In advance.

get some good gears like GM or motives,a rear end cover will help a little to keep things together and will have a higher fluid capacity.i went with MAC.if your posi unit is shot you might to upgrade that too.i went with an auburn over my stock zexel which is a little better.theres better options but im sure theyre more expensive.

if you dont race your car alot and do alot of burnouts itll last awhile.

otherwise you can expect it to break again.

A 12 bolt wasnt on my budget either. But after breaking my beefed up 10 bolt and then replacing the gears and misc parts and labor I had spent over $1K. Then I broke the new 10 bolt a week later, because I didnt have my G2 rear end cover anymore(got torn up when it 1st broke). So now I spent another 2500 on a moser and gears. I was hard headed about not spending the money on the 12 bolt, but now I have not only bought a 12 bolt but I spent $1K trying to fix my 10 bolt. I also dont go to the track to run and is only street raced. Put it on your Visa or pay 1K over and over until you buy the 12 bolt......
