Default Differental replace or repair?

I had a great weekend with my new MT ET drag radials, doing a 1.50 60 ft, but then then rear started clunking and the trans won't shift on it's own. I don't hve enough $$$ for a 12 bolt and an Evil trans, so I m going to do the trans now and repair the rear until spring. The spider gear in the diff is broke. Can I pull it and get it repaired, or should I just find used one and put it in? My pinion gears still look fine.

Thanks!

Ed

I would get a used diff outta a junk yard, and hold off on the racing untill you get a 12 bolt. When I broke my rear transmission, torque arm, and tranny mount. (all in one pass) I saved for about 6 months and got a Moser 12 bolt, and a TH400... the cost may have crippled me at first, but itll never break again.. in the long run youll save money. besides, a Th400, manual valve body, reverse pattern built to take 1000 hp, was only $800 new. also, the torque converter are WAAAAY cheaper compared to a 4L60E, and its 100 times easier (and cheaper) to buy a used one from someone with a similiar setup.
