question on the stock rear.... is the rear end in the 93-97 the same as the one in the 98-02?
im thinking of buying one, my posi is going bad, and its from a 95 Z28

hmm...i think it is similar...they prolly use different components here and there,....but it will bolt up...i've seen 96 v6 rears on a 00 trans am...that is partially why i didn't buy it...it even had drum brakes..
The rears with traction control(4 channel) are different than the ones with just ABS(3 channel), also, I thought the later brakes on the LS1 cars were different also. Width, suspension, bolt pattern would all be the same.
Also, the internal components would be the same (gears, bearings, cases) as long as they are for the same ratio cases. 3.08-down or 3.23-up.

The rears are the same. The LS1 cars use different brake backing plates, so you will have to pull the axles out of both rears and swap them. Not a big deal to do. And like they said above, get the same style you have now, either ABS only or ABS/TCS.
