Possible diff problem
The other day when I was installing my aluminum driveshaft I put the car up on jack stands and was about to climb under to start removing the ds and decided to check which diff I had.
I remember reading that if you spin one tire and the other goes the same direction that you have an auburn and if the other one goes the oposite you have a torsen.
I spun the tire as if I was going forward and the other didn't move at all. I then spun the other tire the same direction and the other side didn't move at all. I sat for a second and pondered. The other day when I changed my diff cover I didn't see any chipped teeth or any metal at the bottom of the carrier so I would think nothing is broken.
I then spun the tire in reverse and the other side went the opposite way. I did this to both sides with the same outcome. Would this mean something is wrong or about to go wrong? Thanks.
