Do I need a new rear?

Do I need a new rear? I gotta 2000 ws6 and I jus put SLP 4.10 gears in it and I broke the differential and fixed that, now something else just broke, I think theres to much torque for the stock rear. Should I just put a built rear in it and if not anybody go any ideas? Thanks
