A little gear help Hello,
I've got real close to 500 rwhp and i got 4.11's in the rear the problem is that I'm running out of gear at the strip and i don't want to put taller slicks on all i like to run are nittos 315's. The question is would you want 355's ,3.70's or 3.89's........something that will help on the steet as well

Need more info to help determine right ratio. tire size in inches, RPM through traps, MPH through traps, and RPM limit on motor.

The tires are 25.6 inch and i'm on the rev limiter in third and forth, It's set at 6800. I trap about 92 and 120 so i know the gears are hurting me. It falls off pretty hard after 6500 so I like to shift there. All this was with 452 rwhp with the patriot heads and I went to AFR's and fast intake and picked up alot of power so i'm sure it's going to be worse now.....But that's a good thing

Ratio X 336 X mph Divided by tire size in inches. your car now 4.11 X 336 X 120 divided by 25.6 = 6473.25 now take the 3.70 X 336 X 120 divided by 25.6 = 5825 does that help?
