Lots of foam when removing diff cover?
I finally got around to installing my MAC rear girdle & sevicing with synthetic fluid.
I drove around for maybe 30 minutes with a couple of short stops in between. When I pulled the stock cover off I got a bunch of foam along with the the old fluid. Not just a little bit, but so much that it was in the drain pan and most of the interior walls & parts were covered with what looked like oily soap suds. I don't recall seeing anything like that before on other cars that I've changed the fluid on.
Does this sound like an overservice, underservice, or maybe some water got into the vent cap (fluid isn't milky though)?
I'm not too concerned because I don't have any strange sounds from my rear and I I don't have any excessive metal on the cover magnet (just the "normal" amount of "fuzz").
................. Just curious more than anything else.
