Default 12 bolt pinion bearing issues

I keep killing pinion bearings in my 12 bolt.Does any one know of a remedy?
I've tried ratechs gold koyo bearings and the timkens so far neither live long
with slicks and a m6.The solid pinion spacer helped but has not stopped the problem. If any one has an idea I'd shure like to hear it.

What are the bearings doing? Are you gouging races out, or rollers failling apart? When you put a new set in how are you setting preload ?

I see you have a Moser. I had Jay Billingsly rebuild mine and he found that the cup in the housing for the pinion race and bearing was not machined correctly. This was causing all kinds of issues with pinion depth and bearing life.

Just someting to look at.

I never let them get to the point of total failure, they just get way noisey and they feel rough when you pull the carrier and rotate the pinion.

Steve what exactly did Jay have to machine? Mine are able to be set up alright they are on borrowed time after that.I have inspected the housing for obvious defects and
have not been able to find any.We indexed the carrier and that is right on the nuts.
I read in a previous post of yours that Jay had to machine one of the pinion race pockets .150 as it was improper from moser but my dimentions are correct for a 12bolt
compared to a factory piece. If I buy Jay that steak you keep promising him do you think he will tell me how to fix this *****?

He had the Pinion race machined to sit further in the cup. Give him a call and I'm sure he will let you know what he did. Brian and Jay had that thing together and a part at least 6 times before they would let me have it back. One full season of giving it hell and it is still quiet.

They did it right and that's for sure.

How's the weather in Mpls? I will be there next week for an inteview.
