Can of Marbles???

Can of Marbles??? I've seen similar posts to this before, but never saw a solution...
When I pull out in 1st, especially when starting off at the top of a hill, I hear a sound which can best be described as a can of marbles coming from the tranny area. I also hear it when accelerating slowly in second, especially when the engine is warm.
At first this was only a slight annoyance, but it's really starting to pi$$ me off. It's loud enough that it can be heard over the Loudmouth exhaust.
I'm not sure if this is related, but when in neutral, I can hear a slight rattling noise - that goes away if I hold in the clutch.
Any info/help you all can provide would be greatly appreciated. I plan on taking it to the dealer soon, but would like to have an idea of what it could be going in.
BTW - The car only has 2400 (babied, not been to the track <yet> ) miles...
