That area of the tooth doesnt matter. As long as the contact patch is in good shape you should be good.
My question would be what happened to them? If it was damaged in a car then you may have a hard time setting them up quietly.

the sellers claims "This happened from setting the ring gear on
the
pinion gear more than usual, but has no effect on performance."

Is this correct? I just wanna make sure the gears are ok for install and wont hurt anything!

were they used, it doesnt look like they have a clean contact area. The only times the area with the chips should be affected is in reverse. Like mentioned Clean them up a little
