How strong??
I'm looking to possibly fix or replace my howling 10 bolt and if the repairs are over $350ish I might just deciede to buy this....."10 bolt rear for TCS/ASR 4th gens, 3.42 gears, Raytec spacer, 2 yokes, TA cover support studs, Eaton HD posi, welded axle tubes, welded on LCA relocator brackets, long 12mm studs for drag wheels, LS1 backing plates and brake discs.
$500 local sale and we'll meet halfway for delivery " So I was wondering how strong this setup is and if it's a good price?? The previous owner made quite a few 11.5xx passes with it and it was rarely driven on the street, but i'm going to do just the oppsite with it, so is it going to be ok for a rear setup like this to be in a 95% street driven car?? Thanks!

In an A4 car you will probably be alright. Is it worth it? I don't know. Most people say you shouldn't put any money in a 10 bolt because they are more or less junk. If thats all you can afford I guess you don't have much choice. I don't see aftermarket axles listed. You may want a set of them. Now your talking another few hundred bucks after them being installed. For it to be in a street car yes it "should" hold up. Is it worth the money. Well that's up to you, what you want to pay, and what you can afford. HTH

Yeah, I don't want to dump money into a 10 bolt but there is a HUGE price gap between the one i'm looking at vs any 12 bolt or 9" so I guess i'm stuck with a 10 bolt. So for what is done to it do you guys think it's a fair price??

A good posi unit can cost up to 400 bucks and a gurdle 140 relocation brkts 40 bucks. So theres more than 500 right there. But how much abuse has it seen, should be the question!
You may just want to get yours rebuilt and start saving for a better rearend later.

Well, it's seen it's fair share of 11.5sec passes on slicks (i'll try to find out how many) it's from a H/C formula with a 3800 Yank stall, it's pretty much a track only car and driven by an older guy (he's 52) and I know him pretty good from out local car club, so I kinda trust him, but now I'll ask him roughly how many passes and when it was built up to get a better feel for what I may be buying. Thanks guys!
