In need of a rear end My rearend aint gonna last much longer and i have no idea about going to pick up a stronger rear end. I will probably have around 425 hp and 450 tq at the most when all is said and done. What would you guys recommend? It will be mostly street driven and to the track once or twice a month at the most. I have no clue about the options i should get like spline axles, detroit locker, none of that stuff. Just tell me what setup would be best for me with all the details. THANKS ALOT!
If you're going into a daily drive it or see a lot of street driving, I say go with a 12-bolt. It won't be bullet proof like a 9 inch with a spool, but it will be a lot stronger than the stock 10-bolt. If you want a direct bolt-on, you'd have to go with Strange. Hear very few complaints about Strange (quality wise), Moser on the other hand seems to be on the opposite side of the spectrum. Moser is cheaper than Strange though, so if you don't mind trying your luck with Moser to save a few bucks that would be the way to go.
I believe with both Moser and Strange, 33 spline axles are standard, so that's one thing you don't have to make a decision on. All you really have to choose is the gear ratio, and whether or not you want an upgraded rear cover or not. Have you done a search on this subject? Slim.... Read my thread on "Help with 9" purchase"... To filter through it all.. I would say a 9" built with 31 spline and a Detroit locker or a True-trac of a locker is too much... Dont forget to get the relocation brackets.
