Gear swap???
Gear swap??? my '02 M6 TA is goin in the shop in a few weeks for a cam and ll the bolt ons.
i was told that i may want to look into some diff gears.
either 3.73s or 4.10s.
im thinkin 4.10s. the car is just a street car.
no drag strip car(for the time being).
the car get driven rather easy(way too easy) and is only got on every now and then but its always from a roll and not a dead stop.
if i get in it from a dead stop, i just ease out of the clutch and then lay into it a lil bit. but no dumpin the clutch.
my car only has 19,999 miles so my rear end should last a good while if driven easy, right???
i plan to do the 4.10s with a complete installation kit from TSP. does this sound like i good idea??? and do i need any thing else besides what comes in the kit???
and finally...how hard is it to do a complete gear swap??? i've done one before but not in a car like this.

1 vote for 4.10's! I have been running 4.10's for a couple of years with Nitto DR's on the street and 75-100 passes down the 1/4mile leaving just above idle and no problem. And as of the past 2 months Iam running a 100shot dry on the street along with 7 passes down the track. Its all in how you drive your car. Wheel-hop will kill a 10bolt with sticky tires, and 3000rpm dumps at the track will do the same.
