4'10's on stock rear end

Wanted to put 4'10 gears in my car but still have the stock 10 bolt rear end. How much of a chance am I taking of blowing the rearend with the new gears? (I also dont plan to launch past 3 K ) Also my car has a M6 transmission

I launched AT 3,000...Broke every tooth off the ring and pinion.

Sorry, are you an a4 or m6? If m6, don't do it.

I leave at 5500+ rpm on BFG's with a stock 10 bolt and 4.10's, no problems.. the key to getting the turd 10 bolt to live is tirespin and clutch slippage.. you can't completely dump the clutch.

best 60' is a 1.75, at 5400 ft DA.

I put them in my 95 Z vert on the stock 10 bolt. Dropped 0.4 off my 1/4. Did not have stickies, did not launch above idle and did not fully power shift. I had no problems but this was basically a street car and they were awesome on the street. They were Zoom gears if you wanted to know.

By the way I had a six speed and just bolt ons.

you can make it last, but chances are it won't. Some people are lucky, others aren't. I say try to save up for a 12bolt.
