dana 44??? got an offer for a dana 44 with 3.55 gears, its a 10bolt with an 8.5inch ring gear. its coming out of a LT1 converter 3rd gen with a richmond 5 speed... doesn't have TCS available but do you think it would be a decent rear? 
Dana 44 is an OK rear, would probably be ok for your auto car, however are you sure it is a Dana 44 ? Not aware that one of those was ever made for an Fbody ? Maybe it is one of the BW 9 bolts they put in the 3rd gen ?
I seem to remember quite a few years ago SLP sold a bolt-in Dana 44 for the 3rd generation cars. I remember seeing it advertised in the Summit catalog years ago when SLP sold that crazy looking T-shaped ram manifold for the pre-LT1 tuned port engines. Early 90's maybe?
