Re: what's the difference in the 288 and 145 slaves? Both have shims. From what I understand, the 145 slave has a thicker shim. Other than that, I believe they are identical.

Re: what's the difference in the 288 and 145 slaves? 145 is the new part. 288 was the replacement for the original slave that was trouble prone. 145 is the new design for the 2001's with the bigger displacement Master.
