Help! Does a Camaro and a Formula have the same.....

Help! Does a Camaro and a Formula have the same..... measurement between the inner fender wells from one side to the other. What I'm wondering is this.. I'm thinking of doing like Joe Kizzire and buy my 12 bolt 3 inches shorter (1&1/2 from each side). and run 15 inch Convo Pros. This works on his Formula well because he is doing it! The question is will it work on my 2000 Camaro SS? Do we have the same measurements from the left inner fender well to right inner fender well? And in like do we have the same measurement from the outer fender well from one side to the other? I measured from the bump stop (the rubber piece that hit the axel) from one side to the other and come up with 49 1/2 inch. I measured from the inner fender well lip from one side to the other and get 73 inches. Does anyone with a Formula have these measurements or is willing to measure if convenient? If you need more info please email me and I'll post photos. This is the only way I'll know if this set-up will work in my car.

Re: Help! Does a Camaro and a Formula have the same..... hmmm...thats a hard one...this is the way i look at it. for drag rims (bird and camaro) you want your "front-space" to be about 2.5". Convo Pro's on a Camaro look great in 7.5" width with 5" BS. that 2.5 left over. same with 15x8" Welds (5.5" BS). now, joe used 8.5 i think with 5" bs...thats 3.5...to get it to tuck the took 1.5" out of the equation. so thats really like 2" "front-space" but it works out in my head <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0"> ..fuzzy math and all. i depends on your wheels, but remember for Welds you can tuck a 10" wide wheel with 7.5" of BS.
