Is my posi gone?
Is my posi gone? I just got home from the track with some dissapointing signs. About my 4th pass into the day i could only get my drivers side wheel to spin on the burnouts and my left would not spin. I though that i was not getting a even amount of water on the tires and ask for more water in the burnout box but still had the same luck. After i pulled the tires off for the day i noticed that my passenger side ET street (the one that would not spin on the burnout) was about 50% low on tread compared to the other tire and both have the same amount of wear before this problem? Why would i lose that much tread if the wheel was not turning? Could the posi be looking up that side and dragging the tire instead of spinning?
On the good side i was still pulling 1.63 60fts. with 11.73 to 11.72@115 with a 10mph head wind in warmer weather than my best <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">

Re: Is my posi gone? Sounds lke the Posi is a one legger,kaput.When my Auburn went,it did the same thing.What type rear you have?
You still pulled some great 60s on a one legger,what type tires are you using?
I can't help with the uneven wear on the non-spinning tire,it don't make sense.
Was there any rubber on wheelwells or fender on that side?

Sorry to hear about the posi problems Scott. <img src="gr_sad.gif" border="0"> FWIW, right before the spider gears broke in my Strange 12-bolt when I had my T/A, it decided to go peg-leg on me. Mine would only turn the pass. side wheel/tire. By the 4th pass, it gave up and grenaded. <img src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" border="0"> So much for the strength and reliability of 12-bolts.

Re: Is my posi gone? jfm,I'm running the stock 10 bolt but with a torsen posi. unit from a M6. I swaped rearends with my bud about a year and a half ago becuase we wanted differnet gears,so we just swaped them out completely to save the cost on getting the gears put in.
I'm running on 26x10.5x15 ET street. I'm not upset about the posi. cause i knew it would be bound to happen im just pissed about that one tire being wore down that much and no their is no rubber on the fender on that side eighter.
I blame it on Trevor and his bad luck,rubbed off on me after replying to his no 11 club <img src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" border="0"> <img src="gr_tounge.gif" border="0">
