Default Shift extension differences

I have a Y3000 in the LT1 and was thinking about doing a TC for my LS1, but something a little more aggressive since the Y3000 does not seem to provide much after the middle of 2nd gear.

Does anybody know what the shift extensions are for a SLP3300, ST3500, and SY3500 are for an LS1 and how the drivabilities compare? It's a mostly street-driven LS1 w/ 3.23s? (I have Nittos but can get ET Streets for the track). Most of my runs are from a roll (lean me towards the SY3500) but the ST3500's price is right and seems to be the majority's choice.

Thanks in advance.

I have a SY3500 with 3.23 gears and stock tire height. My shift extension is 4600rpm per a-tap.

My friends LS1 with a ST3800, has as extension of 5200 with a shift point of 6400. I here the ST3500 is 4500-5000 extension depending on engine upgrades, weight and shift point.

I have a tight 2600 rpm Vig (3 or 4 pump, can't remember). The shift extension is 4700 rpm, with a shift point of 6400. Flash stall is 3500 in my car (Stroker, baby).

Thanks guys.

RPM WS6 - Is the SY loose w/ 3.23s and are you using stock shift points?

Anybody else with w/ SLP3300 or SY3500 or ST3500 experience?

It's not loose at all to me (but that's a perception issue )

My shift points are not stock. They're at about 6200rpm.

SY 3500 will feel a bit looser than your Y3000, but is easy to launch hard with 3.23s.

Too see torque mulyiplication & shift extension comparisons check out:

Ragtop 99,

How would the ST3500 compare to the SY3500 in terms of looseness when driving around town? Is it tighter and do you think it would be similar to the Y3000?

The ST3500 is going to feel a little tighter than the SY3500 at most rpms because of its higher stall torque ratio. The higher STR helps the ST3500, but the larger diameter of the SY3500 narrows the gap. The SY3500 is a better nitrous converter.
