Paging Colonel... Transbrake ? inside Hey big guy, I know you were having issues with the T-brake not working after the first few passes. I was wondering if you got this worked out. I have a TH-400 from Yank, and I am having similar issues. When the car is hot (been driving on the highway), the T-brake doesn't work. I hear the soloniod clicking, but the car rolls forward. Strangly enough, I also have trouble getting the car to lock into reverse right away as well. I was wondering if this is the same thing you were experiencing, and if you got it fixed. Re: Paging Colonel... Transbrake ? inside No, mine is a little different. When I hear it click, it works. If it doesn't work it doesn't click.
I have tried a bigger battery, running through a relay, running bigger wires, and replacing the solenoid twice.
I still think it's just a lack of voltage. I talked with TCI and they said that the solenoid MUST see at the very least 12.5v to work. What I think is happening is that with a hot charged battery it is working for me and after the hot charge wears off the T-brake stops working. I have underdrive crank and alternator pulleys which aren't helping matters if this is the case.
This weekend I am going to put a nice hot charge on the battery beforehand and I'm going to take my generator and 40 AMP charger to the track with me. I'll try to keep a hot charge on the battery between runs and see if that fixes the problem.
