With an M6 go with 4.10's. The 10 bolt/12 bolt is reffering to different rear ends all together, not gears....... the 12 bolt being a little stronger than the 10.

i had 4.10's in my 10-bolt and they were great. much quicker: the car dropped from a 13.8 to a 13.3 with gears and lid/catback with a crap 60'. if u have an M6 get the 4.10's. the only issue with them is if they are not installed properlly they whine like a bitch and prob not last too long, other wise u will love them. they will also be a bit weaker then the stock gears. if i still had a 10 bolt i would put 4.10's in it again
