bolt on m6--what gear? currently running 4.10's in the 10 bolt but im going to be getting a 12 bolt soon and want to pick my gear b4 i order it so i dont have to pay twice to have the gears swapped. i was dead set on the 4.10 but went to my local 1/8th mile track last night and i was having to shift 4th gear in the 1/8th! theres no way thats going to carry me all the way thru the quarter mile.

8.20@86 mph with a 2.0 60 ft. car was spinning about 1/2-3/4 way thru first then i was able to go wot. i also have my shift light set at 6 k so im assuming im shifting somewhere around 6200.

btw ill be putting on lt's, ory, pulley, ls6 intake, ported tb, and a dyno tune about the same time the rear goes in so im sure that will add a couple mph to my 1/4 traps.
If the 4:10's end up running you out of rpm, you can always step up to 28" tall MT drag radials. The taller tire will kill off some gear, plus it will give you a larger footprint on the ground, which will help to lower your 60ft times. Bob
I wanna say with the stock rev limiter, 4.10s will be fine with 26" tires. Not sure about that since I never ran it. However if your having to shift into 5th then just get some 27" tires

With a T56, 4.10s and 25.6" tall Nitto DRs I am tapping the limiter about 25 yards before the lights on a 113 mph trap speed in 4th. So yeah, if you're gonna do it I would use a taller tire, if possible. BTW; I only have minor bolt ons (i.e.; stock intake & exhaust manifolds, stock cats, stock; injectors, TB, MAF, etc.).

We picked up .2 going to a 4.33 over a 4.11 in my buddy's LT1 bolt on car. Seeing as how we turn the stock LT1 cam 6500 or so (its been 115 mph on 26's), I'd be tempted to try a 4.56 and turn the LS1 stuff up to 7000 or so. But thats only if your hardcore, or just wacky like me.
