Problems to look for? (12bolt) Ive heard a few horror stories about the moser 12 bolt, but Ive heard good things too and that is what lead me to buy one. My question is, will I have a problem with a leaky pinion seal with this? Ive heard it is quite common with a 10bolt and even with it fixed it still leaks. Is this the same for the 12bolt? How would I fix it for good if it is?
There really wasn't any problem with the rear itself. Mine came setup wrong and whinned bad, and that seams to be a common thing with moser rears. Also the way the torque arm mounts to the rear could of used a better design , like a through bolt not four separate bolts. Some people like myself had issues with the bolts backing out, so I went to the hardware store and got stronger and longer bolt's with a lock washer for each plus some red locktite. That seemed to fix that issue when I did that . Another problem I had with the torque arm was the mounting surface wasn't big enough for my torque arm so some grinding on my torque arm took place. But that was a aftermarket piece yours might be different.
