How much can she really take?

I have a 1996 Trans-Am. Stock plus headers and exhaust. I plan on adding a 100 or 150 dry shot some time soon, next summer probably. But I want to know what she can take, on street tires. Can I side step at like 1500 or 2000 rpm's? And a question about shifting. Should I powershift 1-2, then shift normaly for 2-3, then Powershift 3-4? I dont want to **** anything up, so I know for sure I wont do the 2-3, but IDK about even slamming 2nd or 4th. Is the sudden shock going to tear my rear end a new one? What about spraying? I plan on laying into the spray in 4th gear right? Is it possible that I will hit the button and the sudden shock will kick my rear ends ***?

Brock, I have seen six speed F Body cars tear out the 10 bolt rear on stock horsepower. One guy on here said he broke his while taking it out of the garage... Don't waste any money trying to build up the stock rear, I'd just use the car with the rear like it is, and plan on buying a new one from one of us vendors when the need arises. Bob

the vendors make some pretty sweet *** rear ends but a cheaper fix is a ford 9 or 8.8. but if u start running over 500 whp with slicks i would look for a 12 bolt. especially if its a manual.
