10 bolt going, need some info...
my 10 bolt is getting ready to bite the rocks. i have been looking around for a 12 bolt or 9 inch replacement.
my car is a street drag car. motor is stock for now (just purchased), its a 6 speed. but have plans for around 450-500 whp. first should i go with the 12 bolt or 9 inch. next should the eaton posi, spool, or a detroit locker.

If you can stand the noise around turns, the locker is your best bet. If not, (and if you want to put power down coming off turns better/smoother) then a Truetrac should be your choice (but it's not as strong as a locker and will not launch as well from a stop going straight).

The Detroit Locker can have a fairly loud ratcheting noise. You cannot get the 9 inch as an ABS only rear, if you have ABS/TCS (4 channel) then you're all set. The people who have ABS only usually order it anyway, and just accept the fact there ABS won't work.
At your hp level, the Moser 12 bolt with the Truetrac is a good way to go. I have sold dozens of these rears, and most people don't have any problems. For a product that is beat on, that is pretty good! Bob

well, 9 inch's are notorious for robbing power(everyone who races pretty much knows this). However you will never ever break it. the 12 bolt is an extremel strong rear, probably right up there with a 9 inch. personally i have never heard of anyone having a problem with breaking a 12 bolt. I am probably goin to bu a 12 bolt if i ever get the money together.
