9" dilema

This is my first post in Gears&Axles so tia for any advise. I am in the process of putting my 9" back together and in my travels I have aquired 2 different housings. One is a Currie w/BMR lca relocators. The other is what I believe to be a Moser w/Moser lca relocators. So I decided to weigh the empty housings. Currie= 60lbs Moser=78lbs Torque arm adapter Currie=8lbs steel weldment, Moser=14lbs cast iron. The axle tubes on the Currie are tapered and the mosers are straight. Obviously the bulkier Moser is stronger but is the strength worth the weight and excessive space? Has anybody ever destroyed a 9" due to a weak housing or housing flex in a F-body? The Currie looks to make far better use of space and has a more compact ta mount. Once again thanks for your opinions.

I don't know that housing strength has ever been known to be a failure area (at least on properly fabbed ones). I would go with the Currie and sell the Moser.
