more 12 bolt questions???
I don't want to send in my brake backing plates!
will they need modified to go on the axles?
will I simply slide my backing plates onto the moser 33 spline axles and then have the bearing pressed on the axle. Then slide the axle in???
what holds the axles in?
does sliding the axles in interfere with the posi unit/gears? the gears will already be in and set up with the Ta girdle on right?
THANKS!

No.

If you have traction control, you have 4-channel ABS. I do not have traction control; I have 3-channel.

Yes. You'll probably want to paint it, and there are a few pieces you'll need. It comes unpainted and bare metal. I used Chassiscote Black from
http://www.por-15.com - but I happened to have the can 'laying around' from another project. Also, you'll need about 3-4' of 3/8" fuel hose, 2
3" muffler clamps (for mounting the swaybar), and 8 3/8 x 24 (or maybe 28?) fine thread nuts, with lock washers - for holding on the backing
plates. A tube of Loctite Blue or Red would come in handy for these nuts too, you don't want the backing plate coming loose on you. Now's a
good time to replace your rear swaybar bushings with poly (both bushings & endlinks).

Yep, you got it. Backing plates, bearings, press 'em on, slide 'em in. The backing plates hold the axles in.
You'll need to disassemble your stock rear end to get the backing plates off. Open the pumpkin, spin the wheels until you see the small 8mm (or
10mm, I don't remember) bolt that holds the big pin in the posi in place. Once you pull the big pin out (it's about 3/4" diameter, can't really miss it), push in on the axles slightly and you can grab the C-clips and wiggle them out. Once the C-clip is out, you can pull the axle straight out. Then detach the backing plate, clean it off with brake cleaner, and you're good to go.
And as for the Moser when it arrives, the rear cover will be on, but it will be loose, and you'll need to take it off anyway. Also, the gears will be set up already, I didn't touch my gears/posi unit. My gears do whine a little at ~55-70 mph.
FWIW, mine was the first I'd ever done, and it wasn't that hard at all, just a fair amount of work. I'm loving it...

You're probably going to need to do a very small amount of grinding on your T/A cover. Its rubbing my swaybar a little.
BTW, my gears only have a slight whine. Not objectionable. Just make sure you do a proper breakin procedure, 'cause my buddys whines alot worse, right Rutan?
why will the ta cover be loose, do I need to do something inside the pumpkin? or is it just so I can see the axles slide in the pumpkin?
THANKS!!!!!!!
