Default AWD Trans aM

Hey, a while ago i saw a thread about someone trying to convert a Trans Am to AWD. Does anyone know where this thread went? I did a search and it didnt find a single thing. Does anyone know if the guy actually did it or not?

I've never seen an AWD F-bod. But I would say it is close to impossible. The is just not enough room for a transfer case in the front of the car. Maybe if you moved the engine into the passenger seat, lol

Notice he said "lol". I'm pretty sure he was kidding.

I remember that thread too. Maybe it was deleted for some reason.

Why would you want to add AWD? It would be a lot of unnecessary weight that would cancel out any kind of good thing it would bring to the table.

I would rather have RWD and lose the back end because of no traction rather than have AWD. If you want AWD get an EVO or STI, american cars are meant for RWD and traction issues.

if you what an AWD Camaro this is what you need to do:
1. buy a SS silverado
2. remove the body
3. shorten the frame so the wheel bases are the same
.
.
.
.
1000. install the camaro body

I left out 996 steps because those are the really technical steps that I have no idea on how to do it.

For giggles, I started doing some research on awd systems for cars that don't have room to house them. I ran across a guy that built a motorcycle that had both wheels powered off the engine. He did it using a hydraulic pump driven off the crankshaft. Pretty interesting idea.

Doesn't look like the front diff is hooked up to anything in that picture.
