9" limited slip diff question.
9" limited slip diff question. ok, i have this limited slip (aka here as a posi) that im buying from a friend.
i THOUGHT i was getting a locker.... but it turns out he didnt know the diff between a locker and a clutch type limited slip, he just thought all limited slips for 9" rears were called lockers.
im not a 9" expert by anymeans.. ive done alot of research on lockers over the last few weeks since thats what i thought i was getting. but i dont know where to start on "posi"s
this is what i have.. how strong is it? my entire rear is "bulletproof", fully aftermarket everything for strength, except this posi..... right now, this is going into a cammed daily driver that sees strip duty... but the car will eventually be boosted into the 600RWHP range, and launched hard at full weight...
basically i want to know if i should buy it and use it for awhile, or back out of the deal.. its a friend and i really dont want to back out of a deal with him, but......

Beleive that is a trac loc limited slip, common in a lot of fords. Wont hold up to very much and i severely doubt it will last a few launches in the 600's. Its not a locker by any means so I would back out and have him throw it on ebay or something.
