Had the pinion seal replaced on my leaky Moser 12 bolt. Now I hear a clunking noise when I make slow turns??? The guy who replaced the seal got rid of the whine(I think he adjusted the lash), but now it makes this clunk rub noise when turning?? Any insight guys??
And yes I used a bottle of GM friction modifier.

 

This was happening to my 10 bolt right before I decided ot get a 12 bolt. I would get a sharp clunk when making left turns. turned out to be my differential was messed up. didnt bother replacing it, went strait to a 12 bolt.

 

I had a 10bolt in my 72 Camaro. It would make noises the first few times out after sitting all winter. I was told it was the fiction disks in the carrier sticking. I done a few figure 8's in a parking lot, and the noise went away. ???

 

my moser does the same exact thing...it drives me nuts...driving straight its fine...then when turning...i get clunk clunk clunk...only when turning...i have the eaton posi

 

My 12 bolt in my truck does this. I used two bottles of the additive and it is good to go.

 

I have the same trouble with my 12 and I called mosier and they said its the eaton. Needless to say they are using the detroit lockers now....

 

Mine seems to as well. However, with all the hardcore suspension parts I have... I can't be sure what to blame.
