Default Need Quick Help

hey guys, i took out my stock rear, and put in my Currie 9" tonight...by myself

I don't think I have the LCA's in the right position. I took a picture, let me know what you think. I have to get this set tomorrow before I leave, I just want to measure for my driveshaft.

As you can see there are 3 holes. I put it in the lowest, which i don't think is the right one, b/c the springs are sort of at an angle (pic below), and that arm that goes from the tranny to the diff housing doesn't line up right.

So why are there mulitple holes?

should i move up to the middle hole?? the top hole, with the silver bolt in it, I don't know why its there. I think its to hold the relocated LCA's in place, but they are welded in, so i put that bolt in there just so i don't loose it for now

here is the spring

after i get this figured out i guess i can measure for my DS...

thanks guys!

Thats funny you say that about your torque arm. I'm putting in my new 9inch today also. I have an aftermarket TA and when it bolted up it hits the floor pan / tunnel.

damn, i've got the stocker and I can't get it to line up just right, i'm doing it by myself, so maybe when I get another free weekend, and find a friend to help she'll go in.

It almost seems like I have to trip the TA a little bit on the top

smokeum: which torque arm do you have?
metallicaematt: your springs are tilted like that because the rear is pointed up. it will point up until the torque arm is bolted in

You have to get a jack under the rear and with the car on jack stands, move the rear up/down to line it up, then I used a big prybar to get them to slide in.
And this was just replacing my torque arm with a ten bolt.
Sometimes the rear will move on you and it makes it tough.
