Default Spider Gear Help :)

Hey guys, I replaced my rearend with a 3.42 6 speed rear end..I got lucky that nothing was wrong with it for a while..Now its knocking loudly when I turn left.. I was told it was a spider gears..Now, My first question is 1) Do you think thats my problem.. 2) Where to buy replacement spider gear setup for my 10- bolt??

Thanks

Did you take off the cover and see what differential came in that axle? If it is an Auburn then you might need some friction modifier. If you have a Torsen differential you need to inspect the worm gears. They chick when the unit has been abused and that will cause your turning noise.

the gears were inspected just 1 week ago when I had pinion seal replaced. The mechanic said there was some metal and chunk of metal in there.. So he looked at the ring and pinion and said that there was no visual breaks in them at all..Thats why I was thinking the spider gears broke..I was told it was a auburn.. It was out of a 02 6-speed formula L1E I believe?? SO, I dont know for sure..My friend that put in the rear end said the carrier was diff. in this one then my stock A4 2.73 rearend.

If the gears look good then the metal came out of the differential.
