Default Quick question on stock rear diff for 2002 WS6

Hey guys quick question. I took a pic of my rearend in my 2002 WS6. it looks like it has leaked at one time. Is it normal for the rear diff on these cars to leak? i mean i never see one drop of fluid on the floor. how would i know if my rear diff fluid is low? Thanks

those leaks are normal. It is usually caused by the pinion seal. Its no big deal. As far as knowing if your fluid is low: there is a threaded plug that you can see in your picture. It uses a 3/8" drive ratchet to get it out. Just screw that out (make sure and clean out any dirt that might be packed in there with a flat head screwdriver or something so you can get the drive all the way in). Then stick your finger in the hole and you should feel fluid close to the top. If you dont feel any fluid then go buy some and fill it up to the top through the same hole.
