4.10's in a 10 bolt

4.10's in a 10 bolt ok i have a 99 z28 m6, i ordered a set of 4.10 gears, and i read everywhere that they will not fit in my 3 series carrier (3.42 and numerically higher), is there any way to make them fit that doesnt include grinding down the paddle pin or what is ur advice or information, i also found this:

I'm confused. The 4.10s that you bought, are they for a 3 series carrier or a 2 series carrier? You need to select the correct one. If they are for a 3 series carrier they'll fit your car. If they are 2 series you should think about purchasing a set that is made for the 3 series.

okay since you have a 99 you should have a zexel torsen diff. and i heard several people say the paddle in the diff will hit the teeth on the gears. as you can grind down the paddle(it's not much). or slp used to have a different paddle(2 piece i think)
that you can buy that will work with 4.10. from what I remeber it wasn't cheap(150.00 i think but it's been a long time)
the ebay link appear to be a kit to allow you to run(thin/3series) gears on a 2 series carrier. instead of the 2 series/thick gearsets.
your problem doesn't seem to be whether you have 2 or 3 series but the problem that the pinion to ring gear ratio of 4.10 is different than 3.42's and it causes the paddle pin to hit the teeth.
