Series 2 carrier question?
I was going to just buy some used 3:42's and slap them in, but it seems like that's pretty much impossible - how strong/reliable is the shimming method to make them fit well?
Thanks for the help,
Grant
I nice install kit may run you $70
Unless your car is putting out over 350+ RWHP, I dont see any reason to swap out the rear, I think your overcomplicating this upgrade.
Check out the sponser " driveline solutions " on the right at the main Ls1tech.com page, I am asking the same type of question in my thread " 2.73's to 3.42's right in this forum.
Buy the right gears that fit for you carrier, with a nice install kit.
Have a shop put them in, and tune your PCM for the change.
It may be beneficial and cheaper to search for a low-mile stock rear end out of a M6 car, cuz they're 3.42 equipped.... that's what I did.
