What are my chances of snapping this...? I'm upgrading <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" /> my 2 1/2 yr old head/cam combo to an ARE stage 2 H/C , RAM clutch-6130 disk, custom 12 bolt with 35 spline axles and 4.10s <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" /> . What are my chances of snapping my 3 1/2 inch aluminum driveshaft from Lingenfelter Engineering? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> I plan on eventually running some M/T ET streets or some Hoosier drags and launching 3000-5000 rpm. Have never launched over idle yet with the 99 SS so I don't know what I will launch at exactly.

Re: What are my chances of snapping this...? Those LPE 3.5" driveshafts are supposed to be pretty bad ***. I think you'll be fine.

Re: What are my chances of snapping this...? This SS gets much more street use then track, wouldn't a locker be a lot of stress as a street unit? Aren't they tough on turning and such?

Locker in a 9" seems to be the strongest thing next to a spool in a 12 bolt. Do you know where you can get a locker for a 12 bolt?
