Why not 9" for a little more $$??
Why not 9" for a little more $$?? The 9"s are only a couple hundred more for the extra strength. Why do more people run the weaker 12-bolt over the 9"? Are the 9"s harder to install or what?
Re: Why not 9" for a little more $$?? A few reasons: 9 inch's are heavier and larger and thus suck up more horsepower than 12 bolts, and you cannot have ABS I believe with a 9 inch.

Re: Why not 9" for a little more $$?? As far as I know you cant just get abs with the 9". If you have abs and tcs (4-channel abs) then it will work because the reluctor rings are at the axles. If you just have abs then the reluctor ring is in the differential. The 9" will also make the rear wheels sit about 1" higher than stock. From I have seen the 9" are actually cheaper than the 12 bolt.

Re: Why not 9" for a little more $$?? Corect me if i'm wrong. Doesnt Moser claim their 12 bolt is stronger than their 9". I think they do. Also Yes in my situation ABS only i had no option but a 12 bolt or no abs.
