I can't verify it but as of recently. The 9 inches come with an ABS provision now.

The 9"s are only a couple hundred more for the extra strength. Why do more people run the weaker 12-bolt over the 9"? Are the 9"s harder to install or what?

A few reasons: 9 inch's are heavier and larger and thus suck up more horsepower than 12 bolts, and you cannot have ABS I believe with a 9 inch.

TCS cars have a reluctor ring at each wheel so it's easy to add to a 9". Cars without traction control have 3-chanel ABS with a single reluctor ring in the pumpkin and there is no provision for this on a 9".

I have a 9" in my car and it's been great so far.

As far as I know you cant just get abs with the 9". If you have abs and tcs (4-channel abs) then it will work because the reluctor rings are at the axles. If you just have abs then the reluctor ring is in the differential. The 9" will also make the rear wheels sit about 1" higher than stock. From I have seen the 9" are actually cheaper than the 12 bolt.

Corect me if i'm wrong. Doesnt Moser claim their 12 bolt is stronger than their 9". I think they do. Also Yes in my situation ABS only i had no option but a 12 bolt or no abs.
